Bolts crush Green Lancers

PBA GOVERNORS’ Cup runners up Meralco Bolts crushed Cesafi men’s basketball champions University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers, 91-68 , in the first game of the Recoletos Invitational Cup yesterday at the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJR) Coliseum.

Big man Ken Bono led the Bolts with 14 points while Justin Chua added 13. New recruit Joseph Yeo also played big for the Bolts as he chipped in eight points for Meralco, which lost to the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings in the season-ending Governors’ Cup Finals last month.

The Bolts, who used their second stringers for most part of the game, led by as many as 36 points in the game, which was at 66-30 in the third period.

Rey Suerte was the lone double-digit scorer for the Green Lancers with 16 points.
