A farmer was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Barangay Busay, Cebu City past 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
The victim, Allan Aton, 31, was about to slaughter a pig together with his relatives beside a road on Lower Busay when two men on board a motorcycle stopped near them.
The backrider, who was clad in a black jacket, disembarked from the vehicle and shot the victim several times, Aton’s wife, Catherine, told the police.
Aton sustained several gunshot wounds on the various parts of his body, according to Senior Insp. Manuel Cañete of the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office.
The suspects immediately sped away from the scene heading to Barangay Busay proper.
Cañete said Aton was rushed by his relatives to the nearest hospital on board a jeepney but he did not make it.
He said investigators recovered from the crime scene were nine empty shells of a caliber .45 pistol.
Cañete said they were looking at personal grudge as the motive of the killing.
