The Police Regional Office said they are now finalizing security plans for the Miss Universe swimsuit presentation in a Lapu-Lapu City hotel and the Asean summit in January and March next year respectively.
Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, PRO deputy director for operations, told reporters that they are preparing early so they can also use their personnel and resources to secure another major event, the annual Sinulog in January.
For the ASEAN Summit, Lawas said some of the meetings of the senior officials and ministers from various countries will be held in Cebu and Bohol. The official did not say where these meetings will be held in particular.
“One meeting will be held in Bohol. Five meetings will be in Cebu which includes the Asean leaders meeting but we have yet to know where these will be held,” Lawas said.
