UN office, Ombud finalize workshop on forest crimes mitigation

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in partnership with the Ombudsman, conducted a two-day activity aimed at strengthening regional cooperation to mitigate corruption risks in wildlife and forest crimes.

Among the recommendations presented by Giovanni Broussard of UNODC to tackle wildlife and timber corruption are the development of anti-corruption regulations and risk-mitigating strategies as well as conducting risk analysis.

The two-day activity will culminate with a keynote speech to be presented by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales on Friday afternoon.
