4 nabbed, P119K shabu seized in separate Lapu-Lapu drug busts

Police arrested four persons, two of them considered as high value targets by the police, and confiscated at least P119,000 worth of illegal drugs in three separate anti-illegal drug operations on Thursday and Friday.

First to fall was Wilmar Matidios, 37, of Sitio Saac 1 Barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City after he sold suspected shabu to an undercover policeman during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Tigkahon, Barangay Bangkal at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Seven sachets and two medium size packs believed to contain shabu with an estimated worth based on the Dangerous Drugs Board value of P119,180, were confiscated from Matidios, said Chief Insp. Wayne Magbanua of the Pusok Police station, who also led the anti-drug operation.

Police also recovered P300 cash believed to be proceeds of Matidios illegal trade and P200 buy-bust money.

Magbanua said that Matidios was one of their high value targets.

At 8 p.m. on Thursday, police arrested Rogelio Deguilmo, 35; and his cohort, Nilo Sumalpong, 28, in another buy-bust operation in Barangay Pajo.

Senior Insp. Joey Bicoy of the Lapu-Lapu City Intelligence Branch (CIB), said they recovered 20 sachets of suspected shabu, P700 cash believed to be proceeds of the illegal trade and the P300 buy-bust money from the suspects.

Bicoy claimed that Deguilmo was also a high value target, being No. 12 on the CIB’s list of drug personalities.

Both Deguilmo and Sumalpong are from Sitio Locatha, Barangay Looc.

At 11 a.m. on Friday, operatives of the City Intelligence Branch arrested Danilo Galang, 27, of Tabogon in northern Cebu, and a tattoo artist, after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover policeman in the old public utility jeepney terminal in Barangay Pajo.
