‘Drug pusher’ killed in police shootout

CEBU CITY—An alleged drug pusher was killed in what the police claimed to be a shootout following a buy-bust operation in Barangay Gabi, Cordova town, Cebu on Saturday night.

Alfie Lopez allegedly fired at the undercover policeman about 7:30 p.m. when he noticed that it was a sting operation, resulting to a shootout.

The police rushed Lopez to the government-ran Vicente Sotto Medical Center in Cebu City but was declared dead on arrival by physicians, according to Chief Insp. Dexter Calacar, Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) information officer.

Recovered from the victim were one small and one medium sachets containing shabu, .38 revolver and the P300 in marked money.
