Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales dismissed the criminal case for indirect bribery against Mayor Tomas Osmeña in relation to the Dodge Charger cars he received due to lack of probable cause.
Morales also dismissed the administrative case for misconduct for lack of substantial evidence. Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña gave reporters a copy of the decision during a press conference in his office on Tuesday morning.
He said the Dodge Charger cars were never donated to the city in the first place and it was used by his political opponents as an issue against him.
Former Cebu City mayor Michael Rama filed the case against Osmeña at the Ombudsman-Visayas who then elevated the case to their Manila office.
