A teenager is now facing charges for violating the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 after threatening to leak the nude photos of a 31-year-old woman if she refused to have sex with him.
Nineteen-year old Dalvin Sale Alguzar was arrested by policemen from the municipal police office of Compostela, 25.3 kilometers north of Cebu City, in an entrapment operation at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday for blackmailing the 31-year-old woman.
The woman, in a report to the police, said that an unidentified man had messaged her on her two Facebook accounts on October 28, claiming to have nude photos of her. The unidentified man then proceeded to threaten her by saying he will leak the photos to her Facebook friends if she refuses to have sex with him.
Anxious, the woman agreed to meeting the unidentified man at Patricia’s Beach Resort in Estaca, Compostela, Cebu on November 15. But prior to meeting the man, the woman had actually sought the help of the Compostela police who accompanied her to the resort, where the waiting young man was arrested.
The young man, a college student and a resident of Barangay Cogon, Compostela, claimed that what he did was just for “harmless fun” and that he did not think of the repercussion of his actions, according to Amabel Manck, a non-uniform personnel of the Compostela police.
Alguzar is now detained at the Compostela police, said Manck.
