MARCOS RELATIVE?
Most people were so engrossed with the television coverage of the “surprise” burial of deposed dictator Ferdinand Marcos that few paid attention to reports that Eastern Visayas’ top drug lord Kerwin Espinosa had flown in from Abu Dhabi and was already brought to Camp Crame under heavy guards.
When Espinosa was presented ina press conference in Camp Crame, one television network on cable channel aired it in between its coverage of the Marcos burial.
A viewer who was so preoccupied with the Marcos story and saw Espinosa on TV got confused and thought it was still part of the Marcos burial coverage. She then asked: “Ig-unsa na siya ni Marcos?“ (How is he related to Marcos?)
SUNDAY MASS BLUES
There will be no Masses in all churches in Metro Cebu from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 20 to allow people and priests to join the Eucharistic celebration at the Cebu Capitol and the procession that follows the Mass.
But a churchgoer who heard about the announcement did not like the idea of not holding Masses in other parishes.
“Dili baya tanan makaadto sa Capitol. Unsaon na lang ang mga tiguwang? Unsaon na lang ang mga wala gani nakahibawo nga gi-cancel diay ang mga misa nianang mga orasa?,” he said.
“Ma-Capitol o sa parokya buhaton ang misa, mao ra nang misaha,” the irked parishioner added.

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña recently announced his decision to no longer give the monthly stipend of all policemen at the San Nicolas Police Station for failing to curb illegal gambling in the area.
While the police station may have a dismal performance in the campaign against illegal gambling, records of the Cebu City Police Office showed that it is the top performer in the anti-illegal drugs campaign in the city.
So which is which?
“Do we have to change the police chief who is doing well in the anti-illegal drugs campaign simply because he did not have much accomplishments in the other department?,” a man said.
