CCTO implements rerouting schedule for the Christ the King Mass at the Capitol

The public heading for uptown Cebu City is advised to take alternative routes tomorrow as the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) will implement rerouting schemes for commuters to avoid the Capitol area, where a concelebrated Sunday Mass will be held at noon to celebrate the solemnity of Christ the King and also mark the end of the Catholic Church’s liturgical year.

Vehicular traffic will be rerouted temporarily on the affected streets in N. Escario St. from Villaon Drive up to Don Gil Garcia St., the CCTO said in an advisory.

From the Capitol area (Osmeña Boulevard to N. Escario St.) vehicles passing along Osmeña Blvd. Heading towards downtown area are to go straight to Osmeña Blvd., take a left tourn turn to P. Burgos St. then to the Metropolitan Cathedral.

All public utility jeepneys (PUJ) coming from Barangays Banawa and Guadalupe heading for Carbon area shall take V. Rama Avenue.
PUJ coming from Bulacao, Pardo and Labangon travelling along N. Bacalso Ave. shall turn right to Leon Kilat St. Passenger jeepneys coming from Lahug, Apas and Ayala passing along N. Escario St. shall follow N. Escario St., turn left turn to Juana Osmena St., right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left turn to F. Ramos St., right turn to Jungquera St., right turn to Sanciangko St., right turn to Pelaez St., right turn to R.R. Landon St. then left turn to D. Jakosalem St., another left turn to Gen. Maxilum Ave., right turn to Juana Osmeña St., right turn to N. Escario St. and on to their usual route then back to their point of origin.

Trucks, vans, trailers and other motor vehicles coming from the South Cebu going to SM City Cebu or to northern Cebu shall follow the South Road, right turn to Mambaling Trunk Road to the South Road Properties (SRP), left turn to SRP Coastal Road, passing the tunnel, to Serging Osmeña Blvd. then to the North Reclamation Area (NRA).

Vehicles coming from the NRA heading to the south are advised to pass along S. Osmeña Ave., pass the tunnel then to SRP and on to their point of destination.

Private vehicles coming from the south going to Capitol and Lahug shall proceed to N. Bacalso Ave., left turn to F. Llamas St., right turn to Katipunan St., left turn to Duterte St. then to their point of destination.

While those private vehicles coming from northern Cebu going to Capitol or the uptown Cebu area while traversing along M.J Cuenco Ave., may turn right to Juan Luna Ave., left turn to Gorordo Ave., right turn to M. Gaisano St. or N. Escario St. then to their point of destination.
