“Pinoy Aquaman” swims from Bohol to Maasin

LAWYER Ingemar Macarine, nicknamed “Pinoy Aquaman,” successfully swam the 17.1-kilometer stretch of Canigao Channel, starting from Bohol and ending in Maasin City, Southern Leyte earlier today.

Macarine completed his 24th open water swim in six hours and 37 minutes. He conquered the rough seas with no assistance from another swimmer. A small boat followed him from start to finish.

His purpose of crossing the channel was to promote local tourism in Bohol and Maasin City as well as promoting cleaner seas.
