MAO BA? TIRESOME BEGGING

TIRESOME BEGGING

A CHILD beggar sang to jeepney passengers as they headed towards one of Cebu City’s malls, hoping they would take pity and give him money.

While some gave him coins, others were either talking to their phones or ignoring him altogether. Frustrated, the child beggar broke mid-sentence into his singing and exclaimed: “hahaha kapoy na (it’s tiring).”

At that point, no one cared and the child got off the jeepney, consoling himself with the few coins he had in his hands.

(Gangnam style has lyrics and is easily danceable. But Pineapple Pen has only three-word lyrics and is monotonous.)

His listeners can only agree, though the broadcaster was quick to admit that anyone can make a song popular through social media.

He only woke up to the audience laughing at some scenes and by then he found the movie entertaining enough to keep his attention glued to the screen for the rest of the hour and a half.
