FOUR policemen of the Punta Princesa Police Station are now being investigated after two arrested drug suspects accused them of receiving drug payolas.
Senior Supt. Joel Doria, the police chief of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) confirmed that they were now validating the claims of two women against the police officers of Station 10.
The two women who spilled the beans on their protectors claimed that the four policemen of the Punta Princesa Police Station received from them a weekly drug payola amounting to P5, 000.
Doria refused to identify the alleged drug protectors except to say that the women’s accusations will be investigated and will undergo the proper procedure of validation.
Doria said that they will not easily believe the allegations of the two women since anyone can accuse a policeman of anything.
Unless these claims will be validated, they will remain to be allegations, Doria said.
The two women identified as Lolita Dionson Maranga, 56, and Virginia Montemor Molina, 33, both residents of Barangay Tisa, Cebu City were arrested in a joint operation of the Cebu City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group (CAIDSOTG) and the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Cebu City Police Office police operation under CCPO’s Oplan Double Barrel Alpha.
They were caught after a buy-bust operation in Villagonzalo 2, Barangay Tejero on Saturday where police retrieved six packs of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing a total of 54.3 grams and estimated to be worth P640,000 – P740,000.
