To mark its tenth anniversary, Cebu’s longest-running musical “Siddhartha The Musical” will offer free admission to everyone who wants to witness the show on December 8 to 12 at the Theater One of SM City Cebu.

Matinee show is at 2:00 p.m. while the gala show is at 7:00 p.m.

Proudly a product of Cebuano artistry, “Siddhartha The Musical” tells the story of the historical figure Buddha and his storied life journey to becoming the Enlightened One.

The show portrays Buddha’s journey as Prince Siddhartha of the Shakya Clan of India and that before his simple monastic life, he grew up in total luxury and opulence in a palace at the foothills of the Himalayas.

The almost three-hour show will shed light on the holy figure’s love story, self-discovery and his journey from birth until death.

The show’s artistic director, Sarah Mae Enclona-Henderson, said that aside from telling Buddha’s story, the show also conveys valuable life lessons that the audience, particularly the students, will have fun learning while appreciating rich Cebuano talent in music and arts.

Since its opening at the Waterfront Grand Ballroom in 2007, “Siddhartha The Musical” has already conquered local and international theatrical stages namely Manila, Iloilo, Bacolod, Taiwan, USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Hongkong, Macau, New Zealand and Japan. The show is set to conquer Australia in 2017.
