Tropical Cyclone ‘Marce’ was able to take its landfall in Northern Cebu twice on Friday dawn.
Rome Eclarino, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa) Mactan weather specialist said that ‘Marce’ made a landfall in the town of Daanbantayan at 1:30 a.m and Bantayan Island at 2:30 a.m.
“Before Marce was able to take its landfall, it intensified into a tropical storm,” Eclarino said.
As of 7 a.m., Marce was at 85 kilometer East Southeast of Roxas City, Capiz with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 110 kilometers per hour.
Areas placed under storm signal number two are Romblon, Calamian Group of Islands, Southern Occidental Mindoro , Southern Oriental Mindoro, Northern Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan and Northern Antique.
While signal number one are also placed in Northern Palawan including Cuyo Island, Rest of Oriental Mindoro, Rest of Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island and Masbate including Burias and Ticao Island, Biliran, Samar, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Bohol, Cebu including Bantayan and Camotes Islands, Negros Oriental, Rest of Negros Occidental,and Guimaras.
Sea travels where storm signal warnings are raised are still suspended.
