THREE Cebuana pairs made it to the third round of the Interclub Ladies Invitational Tennis Tour yesterday at the Citigreen Tennis Resort in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.
The tandem of Gaga Butcon and Alice Sadler scored an 8-4 triumph over Hong Kong Dream Team Club’s Almira Marcial and Crisolde Cinco to set up a showdown with the duo of Marie Jane Chan and Evangeline Eslao of La Union.
Also making it to the next round were Josephine Buayan and Joy Kiseo, who defeated fellow Cebuanas Edna Base and Joy Querubin, 8-5, and partners Dinah Elnar and Imee Lobregado, who beat Rowena Balatazar and Teresa Bagasan 8-5.
Buayan and Kiseo will battle Elnar and Lobregado today for a spot in the quarterfinals.
