THE father of the slain 21-year-old student whose remains were found in the mountain village of Guimbacongan in Sibonga town, south Cebu asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to investigate her death.
Joselito Jabello went to NBI-7 office in Cebu City yesterday morning, hoping that justice will soon be served.
“I am not contented with the police investigation. I think there’s something lacking,” he told reporters.
NBI Regional Director Patricio Bernales is expected to assign the case to an investigator.
Joselito’s daughter Genevieve, was found dead last Nov. 21 with a gunshot wound in her left chest.
Genevieve was a scholar who studied Animal Science at the Cebu Technological University-Argao Campus.
She lived in a boarding house with a friend in the university compound.
Police ruled out robbery as the motive behind the murder because the victim’s coin purse containing more than P100, necklace and wristwatch were intact.
A day before her dead body was found, a board mate saw the victim walked alone outside their rented house.
Hours later, residents heard two successive gunshots and saw a sports utility vehicle in the place where Genevieve’s body was found.
Joselito believed her daughter was purposely killed.
He, however, has no suspect in mind, saying his daughter had no enemy.
