TWO people were killed in a vehicular accident involving a prime mover truck and a motorcycle last Tuesday morning at the national highway of Ward 3, Barangay Poblacion, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.
Rocky Alvarez, 22, of Barangay Pakigne, Minglanilla, died on the spot, while his female backrider who was also his relative, Jovelyn Benida, died while being treated in the hospital.
Investigation conducted by SPO2 Oliver Dacua revealed that Alvarez tried to overtake the prime mover driven by Conrado Salin, 52, of Ward 2, Barangay Poblacion, Minglanilla, but he lost his balance after hitting the truck, causing them to fall.
Salin is now detained at the Minglanilla Police Station pending the filing of charges of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide against him.
