A RECEPTION to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty, the Emperor Akihito, will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel.
Hosting are the Consular Office of Japan in Cebu and Atsushi Veno, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Japanese Embassy in Manila.
Gentlemen are requested to wear a business suit or Barong Tagalog.
Speaking of Japan, Dr. Warfe Engracia has just been there as representative of the Rotary Club of Mactan and as guest of the Rotary Club of Omiya.
Dr. Engracia was in his capacity as Chairman of the Organ Imaging Department of Southwestern University–Sacred Heart Hospital PHINMA as per request of the medical director Dr. Takashi Nakagawa of Omiya, Japan.
He was accompanied by the Rotary Club of Mactan president Reynante Mangayao and secretary Maita Manglapus. Dr. Engracia was instrumental in sending Dr. Odalie Aznar Madamba, Dr. Mark
Caballero and Radtech Reymond Velasquez to participate in VTT
ultrasound training in Japan.

For today at 6 p.m. is the Christmas tree-lighting ceremony and celebration at the Shangri-la’s Mactan Resort and Spa hosted by general manager Rene Egle.
Also today at 5 p.m., Rustan’s and Bernardaud present their
collection of the finest Limoges porcelain at the store’s third level. It is hosted by Mariquita Yeung and Ferdi Salvador for the benefit of Operation Smile.
