TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol- The province of Bohol is experiencing a 13-hour blackout on Saturday due to repairs being done to the province’s power source in Leyte, said an official of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

The province-wide power outage started at 4 a.m. and was expected to end by 5 p.m. on Saturday.

According to Betty Martinez, public affairs officer of NGCP-Visayas, the power interruption was due to a maintenance operation on Project 2 of the Ormoc-Maasin 138-Kilovolt line.

Normal operations will immediately resume once repairs are completed, she said.
Some business establishments in Tagbilaran City, the provincial capital, were closed on Saturday morning since these didn’t have generator sets.
