THE PANTHERS grabbed their second straight championship title in the Elite Basketball Club Cebu after defeating the Wolves, 67-64, Sunday night at the Visayan Glass Gym in Guadalupe.
The Wolves almost broke a five-point Panther lead in the last eight seconds of the game before Mark Panerio sank a free throw that iced their title victory.
Neil Buot took home the Finals MVP honors after finishing with 22 points while Panerio added 14 markers.
The Wolves were led by Ivan Espina’s 18 points.
Espina overcame a slow first half of only two points and tallied seven and nine points in the third and fourth period, respectively, to help his team keep in step with the defending champions.
