SOME WATER PLEASE
A broadcaster recounted his experiences in dealing with street kids, saying he would often give them food whenever they approach him while he ate at a local eatery.
While some street kids are grateful, he said others want a little more.
A street kid whom he gave bread to asked him, “Wa ba diha mineral water, mangayo lang ta boss (Is there mineral water, can I have some, boss)?”
Ever accommodating, the broadcaster would give the street kid the half-empty mineral water bottle he drank from, and the child would down it in one gulp.
NO MORE THANK YOU
Even foreign tourists know when it’s time to call it quits after a day of sightseeing and shopping.
Siloy’s pal saw a South Korean couple talking animatedly about the purchases they made at a mall including some native souvenirs and food they had delivered in shopping carts.
When a salesperson asked them if they wanted to buy insurance, they politely declined in halting Visayan, “Daghan salamat miss, di na gyod (Thank you very much, but not anymore).”
PETS STRIKE A POSE
The so-called mannequin challenge has a lot of people trying to do their own version of the popular stunt in social media.
One such version involved a group of friends who brought along their pets while they struck their own dramatic poses.
Siloy’s pal wondered how they managed to get their pets to stand still while they performed the challenge.
