Mandaue City elderly to receive cash aid

AT LEAST 15,000 senior citizens in Mandaue City will receive the last installment of their annual P6,000 cash assistance from the Mandaue City government in the next two weeks.

This developed after the city government released P32.95 million for the senior citizens cash aid.

In a phone interview yesterday, Mandaue City Councilman Demetrio “Jun” Cortes Jr., chairman of the committee on social services, said that they would begin distributing the cash aid on Monday, December 12, in all 27 barangays in the city.

It is the city’s commitment to the elderly individuals to provide them an annual cash aid of P6,000. The disbursement of the aid is staggered in three quarters. The first two chunks of this aid were given to them last April and August.

Through each barangay’s respective treasurers, the cash aid will be distributed in designated areas in the barangays from December 12 to 16.

On Monday, cash aid will be distributed in barangays Cambaro, Centro, Guizo and Mantuyong while it will be the turn of Barangays Ibabao-Estancia, Basak, Jagobiao, Canduman, Maguikay and Cabancalan to get their share on December 13.

The distribution of cash aid for Barangays Tipolo, Subangdaku, Casuntingan, Banilad and Bakilid 1 and 2 will be on December 14. The schedule of Barangays Alang-Alang, Umapad, Opao, Looc, Labogon and Paknaan will be on December 15.

Senior citizens residing in Tabok, Pagsabungan, Tingub, Cubacub, Casili and Tawason will have their cash aids distributed to them on December 16.
