MORNING NUISANCE

A group of trainees from southern Philippines who were staying at a boarding house in a Cebu City for a month-long training in a fast-food chain manage to wake up early in the mornings since they were scheduled to go on duty at 2 p.m.

Problem is, they disturb the rest of their “housemates” who work the graveyard shift and have to sleep in the day for their late-night duty.

DAY JOB

A female massage therapist refused a staffer’s request for her to attend to a client who paid for an hour of foot-and-back massage.

The massage therapist said she doesn’t want to work, which drew the staffer’s ire.

“Unya nganong naa pa man ka diri? Undang na lang og trabaho (So why are you still here? Just quit your job)!”

There was a moment of silence as the massage therapist still couldn’t get over her shock of being told off.

CHRISTMAS FASTING

A BROADCASTER known for his wily sense of humor bewailed the irony of turning down a lot of invitations for late-night Christmas parties to avoid overeating.

He told listeners how, on his doctor’s advice, he would avoid staying too long at parties to avoid drinking and feasting on sumptuous food.

He also turned down invitations from his drinking buddies for an overnight binge at a favorite watering hole.

“Karong buntag, unsaon na lang bisan pan og kape wa ko makit-an (This morning, what can I do, I can’t even find coffee and bread)?” he said.
