CEBU’s famous sweet mangoes became an instant favorite among five Miss Universe candidates.
The ladies expressed their love for Cebu mangoes during a news conference at JPark Island Resort and Waterpark in Lapu-Lapu on Tuesday.
Representatives from Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, Japan and Myanmar said they enjoyed their lunch especially with Cebu’s sweet mangoes.
The candidates arrived in Cebu early Monday morning and were scheduled to tour around Cebu.
Among the sites they would visit were Magellan’s Cross, and the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño in Cebu City.
Another batch of Miss Universe candidates held a press conference at 2 p.m. on Tuesday also at JPark Island Resort and Waterpark Cebu.
The second batch were the ladies who went to Oslob town to go whale-watching.
Meanwhile, those who want to witness some of the activities set for the Miss Universe 2016 swimwear presentation in January should prepare at least P12,500 to buy a ticket.
In a press conference yesterday, JPark Island Resort and Waterpark Cebu revenue manager CK Mangapis told members of the media that the tickets are priced at P12,500 for the festive lunch, which includes the swimwear presentation.
“Tickets for the Kadaugan dinner, which includes the fashion gala are priced at P12,500, while the afterparty is priced at P8,000,” said Mangapis.
All these events will be held at the resort on January 17, 2017.
According to Mangapis, they are selling a limited number of tickets only. As of Tuesday, at least half had already been sold.
