Vice Governor Agnes Magpale said that before the 14th Sangguniang Panlalawigan breaks for the holidays, they will discuss the 93-1 Land Swap Deal and 2017 Proposed Budget and hopefully come up with a resolution.

Magpale, in an ambush interview on Monday morning said that the board will have their last session in the afternoon (Monday).

When asked about the 93-1 land swap deal with Cebu City, Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale declined to comment saying most of the questions have already been answered by Governor Hilario Davide III.

“I do not want to speculate (on its approval) kay I don’t want to pre-empt the board members basta that was well-attended,” she said referring to the Committee on Properties hearing last December 10, Saturday.

Under the memorandum of agreement (MOA), the city is set to give a portion of Block 27, the city’s Septage Treatment Plant, a 2.5-hectare lot located at the South Road Properties (SRP) and the city-owned property in Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town in exchange for lots located in 11 different city barangays that are owned by the province.

On the proposed P3.6 billion budget for 2017, Magpale told departments with “proposed budgets [that] have been slashed” to not worry.

She assured that a supplemental budget is available if needed.

The 2017 proposed budget is P200 million higher than the 2016 budget, which has highest allocation for hospital operations at P881.9 million.

Magpale said that she hopes discussions during the session will be “smooth-sailing”.
