Solid Earth serves over 800 patients in Pinamungahan medical mission

A TOTAL of 856 residents in nine hinterland barangays of Pinamungahan received medical attention during the medical mission organized by Solid Earth Development Corp. (SEDC) recently.

Residents from Anislag, Binabag, Busay, Duangan, Guimbawian, Lut-od, Ponod, Sambagon and Sibago trooped to Duangan Elementary School to avail of free medical services.

Duangan Barangay Captain Annette Navarro and her fellow barangay captains of the beneficiary barangays and barangay health workers gathered their respective constituents and assisted the volunteers in attending to the patients.

The patients included 266 adults and 179 children with various illnesses and other health issues, 61 with dental cases and 350 others who received free spectacles.

Doctors Debra Maria Catulong, Armindo Ceniza Jr., Normacita Infantado, Celso Pacana Jr. and Galileo Velasquez composed the medical team, while the dental team was composed of doctors Pearl Angeli Cabauatan, Phil Raymond Oacan and Mechell Torres.

The activity was part of SEDC’s Community Development Program for Pinamungahan where it will soon operate a quarry to mine out silica, according to Mitzie Almira Carin, SEDC deputy division manager for human resources and administration.

Silica is one of the raw materials used in cement manufacturing. SEDC will supply the material to Taiheiyo Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI) in Barangay South Poblacion, San Fernando, Cebu.
