POLICE on vacation will be required to spend a day of their vacation on duty at a police station on New Year’s eve as the police are on heightened alert.
Senior Supt. Lyndon Lawas, Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) deputy director for operations, said yesterday that he received the memorandum from the Philippine National Police Chief Ronald dela Rosa recalling those police officers on vacation leave on New Year’s eve.
Lawas said that those who are on New Year’s break will be required to report at the nearest police station where the police and personnel spend their vacation to perform their duties.
He said it is not needed for them to go back to their mother unit to the area where they are assigned, but they will be required to report to the nearest police station where they are at right now.
“Like ako kung mouli ko sa Dumagute City, kadtong pinaka ka-duol nako nga police station adto ko mo-duty (Like for me, if I will go to Dumaguete City to spend my New Year, then I’ll report for duty to the nearest police station I’m currently at),” Lawas said.
Last Tuesday, General Bato has ordered his subordinate commanders to “recall all personnel to conduct police presence and patrol operations in areas with reported history of illegal discharge of firearms and indiscriminate firing incidents in the past.”
The recall will start from 5 p.m. of December 31, 2016, to 5 a.m. of January 1, 2017.
