CEBUANO netter Arthur Craig Pantino started the new year in style as he defeated India’s Nathailin Calvin Golmei, 6-3, 6-3, to move into the second round of the India-International Tennis Federation (ITF) yesterday in Chandigarh, India.
Pantino, who ended 2016 on a sour note after losing in the PSC-Phinma tennis competition late November, got right back on the winning track as he never gave Golmei a chance to come back to seal his place in the next round.
With the victory, Pantino improved his record in singles ITF tournaments to 22-16 (win-loss).
He is set to battle the winner of the Roko Shavin-Shramay Dhawan match today.
