CEBU’S TEAM MaXImo has sent one of its members, 21-year-old Bea Katrina “Beamax” Maximo to the USA to participate in the prestigious New York Marathon’s 5K Run on Nov. 2, 2013 (Nov. 3 in PH) in New York City.
Popularly known as NYRR Dash to the Finish Line 5K, the event is part of the world-famous ING New York Marathon excitement that run through the streets of Manhattan and finish at the famed Central Park.
Beamax, along with thousands of runners, will start at Hammarskjold Plaza on 47th street between 1st and 2nd avenues, near the United Nations headquarters.
They will head towards the world-famous 42nd street that will take the Cebuana right through the heart of New York City. Up ahead is Central Park and soon the runners will be sprinting toward the famed ING New York City Marathon finish line.
“Competitive sports has recently taken a back seat due to my present work in OT but I will give it my best shot. Definitely I will watch and learn from this race and share the experience when I get back home,” shares Beamax.
A 21km finisher in the Cebu Marathon and a football varsity player of the University of Santo Tomas (UST), she is currently abroad to observe Occupational Therapy (OT) practices in America.
The young OT professional and athlete is presently a professor at Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) and a clinical instructor at Cebu Doctors’ Hospital (CDH).
