ON its seventh year, one of the country’s premier footrace, the SM2SM Run will be giving away exciting prizes not only to the podium finishers but also to the non-winners.

The race is scheduled on February 19, starting and ending at the SM City Cebu parking area.

Champions in both the 21-kilometer male and female categories will bring home P70,000 each.

Winning runners in the 12k, 7k and 3k distances will also pocket cash prizes.

“The newest addition in this year’s SM2SM Run is the 7k, replacing the 6k category last year. The cash prize in the 21k increased from P60,000 to P70,000,” said race director Joel Baring in a press conference Saturday afternoon.

Though no specifics were given yet, organizers assured that participants will have a chance to win exciting prizes during the raffle draws.

Around 7,000 runners are expected to join the race.

No less than Cebuana Olympian Mary Joy Tabal will be competing in the 21k category. She will also hold a four-session running clinic leading to the race day along with her coach John Philip Dueñas.

Registration is ongoing at SM City Cebu.
