‘The Spawn’ beaten anew

CEBUANO Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Vaughn “The Spawn” Donayre showed improved striking abilities but still couldn’t avoid absorbing another loss as he bowed to Dutch MMA fighter Vincent “Magnivincent” Latoel via a unanimous decision last Saturday in their three-round non-title match of One Championship: Quest for Power in Jakarta, Indonesia.

All three judges scored the bout in favor of Latoel to walk away with unanimous decision victory to improve his record to 17 wins with 18 losses and two draws. Donayre suffered his seventh loss with eight wins in his resume.

Suffering a fourth straight defeat, Donayre started the fight with solid counter punches while his kicks to the legs and body also found their targets.

Latoel answered with his own combinations that made the fight more interesting.

In the second round, Donayre continued to connect on solid punches and leg kicks but Latoel managed to score a takedown.
Latoel got stuck in a guillotine choke but he escaped and gained a mounted position.

Donayre quickly shifted from guillotine choke to an arm bar position but Latoel was quick enough to defend himself from the attempted submission.

Latoel was able to get back on his feet and pounded Donayre, was down in the canvas, with a flurry of punches.

Donayre was able to grab Latoel’s foot to survive the round.
In the final round, Latoel moved forward to land kicks and punches to Donayre, who countered with punches.

Donayre was able to connect a four-punch combo but Latoel was quick to score another crucial takedown.
