SOBERED UP
A group of drunken underage Sinulog revelers passed by the Jones Street area and pushed away other fiesta-goers to move past the large crowd that gathered there.
An elderly woman who was one of those pushed around by the boys threatened to call the police.
Despite their profuse apologies, the old woman made good on her threat and called the nearest cop.
The boys sobered up fast and tried to convince the cop not to detain them.
SHUT UP AND GO TO CLASS
On hearing the suspension of classes on the elementary and high school level only inside their classroom, some college students were disappointed at having to go to school last week.
A college student didn’t bother to hide his disappointment and said the school officials probably thought that college students can survive the floods better than office workers.
One teacher who overheard him told him to shut up and prepare for his class that day instead.
NO TO SHUTDOWN
After cell sites were shut down during the Sinulog Festival and Miss Universe swimsuit presentation, some netizens suggested that police also shut down cell sites during the Valentine’s Day observance.
That way, they said, they would avoid getting jealous hearing other people talking about their romantic dates.
But even some people who don’t have dates on Valentine’s Day objected to the idea since a cell site shutdown would stop them from playing their favorite mobile games.
