Petitioners ask Mandaue to fix bad roads, drainage

THE drug testing centers, medical clinics, insurance agents and residents of Sitio Superior, Barangay Looc signed a petition addressed to Mandaue City Council to address bad roads, drainage and existence of a container yard in the area.

Dr. Danilo Dionson, the leader of the group, said they have been pleading since the administration of former mayor and now congressman Jonas Cortes and now the office of Mayor Luigi Quisumbing and the City Council to address their concerns but nothing happened until now. “We now plan to bribe the city council so they would hear our concerns,” Dionson said.

Dionson showed a transparent mineral water gallon containing coins and paper bills dropped by residents with a label that reads “Atong soburno sa city council (Our bribe to the city council).”

Around 30 stakeholders have already signed the petition and the campaign is still ongoing. They plan to bring the accumulated coins to the city council as soon as possible.

The residents also placed tarpaulins urging people to join them in their petition to retain the Land Transportation Office in Barangay Looc.
