2 persons found dead in Cebu
A SEVENTY-FIVE-YEAR-OLD Norwegian national and a 30-year-old woman were found dead in separate areas in Cebu on Wednesday afternoon and yesterday morning.
The Norwegian identified as Tor Martin Olsen was already lifeless when discovered by his son Tor Cato Olsen, 39, inside their room at Cordova Home Village, a resort in Barangay Catarman, Cordova town past 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
SPO1 Eleazar Llanes said they received a call from the resort around 5 p.m. and immediately responded to the area. Llanes called the assistance of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) personnel to help in the investigation and to determine the real cause of death of Tor Martin.
Tor Cato said he noticed that his father had difficulty breathing the other day but was able to recover. He said he later found his father already unconscious when he returned to their room.
Police, however, found no indication of foul play on Tor Martin’s death.
The father and son had just arrived this week from Norway after they were invited for a vacation by fellow Norwegian national who owns the resort.
Meanwhile, in Toledo City, a woman was found dead with multiple stab wounds on her body around 8 a.m. yesterday in Barangay Media Once.
Police suspect that the victim’s killing had something to do with drugs as a sling bag with small plastic packs containing residue of suspected shabu, P150 cash and cell phone was found near her body.
PO2 Junard Cinco of Lutopan Police Substation said the victim, identified only as Jenjen and estimated to be 30 years old, was lying lifeless in a secluded area when found by a certain Mae Siamoc, who was pasturing her cow.
Jenjen, who reportedly hailed from Talisay City, Cebu but was temporarily staying with her live-in partner in the barangay, was wearing a black t-shirt and maong pants.
The bloodstained knife measuring about 13 inches was found about one meter away from the body.
Cinco said they are now trying to determine the motives of the killing, including the possibility that Jenjen was killed by the relatives of her former live-in partner. The relatives allegedly got mad at her, thinking that she was responsible for the arrest of her former live-in partner, who was a known drug pusher in Media Once.
