NO PAPERS
A barangay official found himself in an awkward situation when he showed up outside their barangay hall where his supporters were making a rally and declared that he submitted a petition for a restraining order against his suspension.
When reporters asked him for a copy of the document, the barangay official said it was inside the barangay that was padlocked by his supporters, and he didn’t know who had the key.
OPPORTUNISTIC BLOCKTIMERS
A city official was wary when told that some media outlets were waiting for him outside his office.
When he saw who they were, he told them to wait for a few minutes.
He later told the media that he was apprehensive about meeting them since he had a bad experience with radio blocktimers.
Those blocktimers would often ask him for favors in exchange for favorable commentary on him.
RUINED DATE
A city councilor and his wife who attended a concert ahead of Valentine’s Day had their date spoiled by the promotion of a political rival during the commercial breaks.
The councilor said the image of his political enemy was flashed 10 times on the big screen during the concert.
This angered him and caused him to lose interest and leave the concert with his wife even before it ended.
