15-year-old boy commits suicide in Tuburan

Afraid of being scolded for his failing grades, a 15-year-old boy from Tuburan town decided to end his life on Tuesday afternoon.

Charles (not his real name), a grade 7 student of the Tuburan Central School, was found by a neighbor already hanging inside a small hut located a few meters away from his home at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The boy tied a nylon rope around his neck and tied the other end of the rope on the ceiling of the hut, which is being used to house animals.

Chief inspector Roland Aliser, chief of Tuburan Police Station, said Charles was already dead when he was brought to the hospital.

Aliser said Charles was afraid his parents would find out that he had been skipping his classes, which was the reason for his failing grades.
