At least 100 people were rounded up by Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) in a “one time, big time” operation on Friday night.
All 11 police stations in city participated in the operation dubbed as “Oplan Pokemon” where 106 persons, mostly engaged in illegal gambling, were arrested.
Of that number, 15 of them have pending warrants of arrest in the city while 10 others were caught in plain view using illegal drugs, said Supt. Ryan Devaras, City Intelligence Branch (CIB).
Three were also arrested for illegal possession of firearms.
Devaras said that the 15 suspects with warrants of arrest were wanted for robbery and links to illegal drugs.
Among the arrested person was Jay-R Mago who evaded arrest in last week’s Oplan Pokemon.
Mabolo police launched a manhunt operation against one of the Mago brothers, who are robbery suspects.
The operation was backed by the Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat) after one of the brothers allegedly threw a hand grenade at them.
