A POLITICAL

THE president of a newly formed private organization in a town in Cebu vowed to keep the group apolitical and independent.

But some who heard her pronouncements doubted it would be achieved since the group leader comes from a family of politicians.

CAFÉ LOYALISTS

Two reporters at a coffee shop wondered why students spent more time in cafés than they do in school canteens or libraries considering the prices of food and beverages sold there.

One of them said a cup of coffee costs more than what she earns in a day.

The other one asked, “How can these students come here every day when they aren’t even earning?”

P1 CAB FARE

A lawyer took advantage of a promo offered by a transport-hailing app and ended up paying only P1 for a trip.

The driver didn’t take his fare. “The driver was so kind. He didn’t let me pay,” the lawyer told his friend.

“Of course, he didn’t take the P1. It would hurt my ego if I were him,” the friend replied.

VERSACE ON THE FLOOR

A VIDEO of a young man singing the Bruno Mars hit “Versace on the Floor” had gone viral in social media and drew more than 1 million likes and had been shared more than 23,000 times.

Some of those who posted their comments voiced their admiration over how the young man sounded like Bruno Mars.

Others also criticized those who poked fun at the young man’s features by saying that “talent trumps looks any day.”
