SWU-Phinma stays unbeaten

THE YOUNGSTERS of the Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma notched their second win in a row after they crushed the Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology, 51-36, in the under-13 division of the Casino Active Cup/CYBL 2017 yesterday at the Aznar Coliseum.

Ronald Bolso and Nari Cabradilla waxed hot from the field in the final canto, where they combined to score all 15 of the Baby Cobras points to vanquish their opponents and raise their unbeaten record to 2-0 (win-loss). They opened the tournament with a victory over PAREF-Springdale.

Bolso wound up with 15 points while Cabradillas and Mac Cole had nine apiece.

In another game held at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue, the newly minted Cviraa champion University of the Visayas (UV) also got its second win as it thrashed Don Bosco, 58-37, in the under-13 division A.

The University of San Carlos (USC) South grabbed its first win with a 32-16 rout of the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) B in the under-13 division 2-B.

In the under-16 class, Don Bosco won its fourth straight game after it won over USC North, 45-37, in division 1-B. USJ-R, meanwhile, broke out of a two-game slump with a 53-44 win over Abellana National School (ANS).

In the under-19 division, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) got its third win in a row with a 54-37 victory over Abellana. Don Bosco also cruised past USC, 67-38.
