WEEKEND CALLS

SINCE it was the weekend, the reporter expected it to be tough securing a statement from a regional director of a government agency.

After repeated calls, the regional director texted him that he would call but didn’t specify when he would do so.

A whole afternoon passed and night came and still no call from the director.

“Sakita. Di ra man diay sa love ra ko paasahon. Hasta man pud sa work (This hurts. It’s not only love but I also have to wait on work),” the reporter bewailed.

NOODLES FOR SNIFFLES

A taxi driver got concerned after hearing his passenger coughing and sneezing inside his vehicle.

He asked the passenger if she was okay and she replied that it was nothing.

The taxi driver politely offered her some tablets but the passenger told him to bring her to the nearest drug store instead.

On reaching their destination, the driver expected the passenger to head to the drug store.

Instead, she walked straight to a fastfood outlet that serves chicken noodle soup among its menu choices.

CANINE CONUNDRUM

She nearly stumbled when her neighbor said, “Cute kaayo imong dog. Doberman ni? (Your dog is cute. Is he a Doberman)?”
