THE Cebu Football Association (CFA) will be fielding in four teams squads for the three-day Festival of Footballs (FOF)-Visayas Leg which unfolds today San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
CFA will be competing in the boys under-13, boys under-15, girls under-13 and girls under-15.
“Despite their regular schedules, we are thankful to all teams for making their players available for practice and the FOF proper. This is one way the CFA can be united for a specific task,” said CFA Vice President Rico Navarro.
Navarro thanked Cebu Province Sports Commission executive director Atty. Ramil Abing, CPSC official Brando Velasquez and Cebu Governor Hilario Davide Jr. for supporting the CFA’s teams that will compete against Eastern Visayas Football Association, Negros Oriental Football Association, Ilo-ilo Football Association and Negros Occidental Football Association.
The FOF is the continuation of the nationwide grassroots development program of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF).
Last year, CFA won in the girls under-14 and boys under-14 divisions.
Players competing in the FOF may get a chance to be part of the national team training pool for the under-15 youth girls and boys teams, which are scheduled to compete in various international meets.
