EARLY BIRDS

Cell phones and other mobile devices were turned off as required by organizers of an advanced screening of the live action Disney film “Beauty and the Beast.”

Without their devices, the early birds were left to talk to each other while waiting for the film to start.

It was a long wait for these moviegoers who stared at the blank screen in between conversations while the theater slowly filled with viewers.

CUTTING IN LINE

During lunch at a forum, an officer of a business organization in Cebu cut in line at the buffet, asking others ahead of her to give way.

But one of the service staff handling the food wouldn’t tolerate her antics. “Excuse me, ma’am. Please fall in line,” he said, shortly before they stared at each other.

The staff member smiled at the officer and repeated his request, not breaking eye contact. The officer conceded and went to fall in line properly.

BUFFET TIME

A graduating student was overjoyed that her whole extended family would come to Cebu for her graduation this month.

But she was worried because only two people were allowed to escort her inside the venue of the ceremony.

One of her aunts assured her saying, “Oh, don’t fret. What’s important is we’ll be there at the buffet.”
