Andrin sisters take top two spots in 10-kilometer race of Dagan Para Sa Gatas Ni Nanay

The Andrin sisters, Cherry and Lovely, once again showed their mastery in running, as they took the top two spots in the women’s 10-kilometer race of the Dagan Para Sa Gatas Ni Nanay last Sunday in Lapu-Lapu City.

The younger Cherry claimed the top spot after crossing the finish line situated at Pueblo Verde’s The Outlets in 50 minutes and 53 seconds.

Cherry’s older sister, Lovely Fe, took second place honors with a time of 51:42 while Diana Balungkas finished third with a time of 54:06.

Joseph Arnel Emia topped the male 10k open with a time of 37:51 while Jezerel Baguio placed second, clocking 38:43.

Michael Sardito rounded off the top three, finishing in 40:14.

All Women’s Ultra Marathon champion Lizane Abella topped the 5k race by clocking 19:25. Moira Arellano (20:54) and Michelle Beboso (22:01) were second and third placers, respectively.

Kenyan James Mebei, meanwhile, dominated the 5k men’s open with a time of 16:22.

Harold Kim Guiao settled for second place with a time of 17:07 while Brian Guillen placed third, finishing in 17:37.

Winners in the shorter distances were Jona dela Torre (1k mothers), Kirknanz Alison (1k 8-9 years old), Rob Evangelista (1k 6 years old below) and Rafael Iñigo Jopson (1k 7-8 years old).

The running event drew around a thousand runners. The run was organized by the Lactation Attachment Training Counseling and Help and Aboitizland.

The running event aimed to raise funds to help the completion of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center’s human milk bank and pasteurizer.
