Cebuano duathlete and national team member Joland Olmilla braces for a tough challenge as he looks to put up a podium finish in the Consolacion Mountain Bike Duathlon this Sunday starting at the SM Consolacion Parking Lot.

The 24-year old Olmilla who is a major factor in helping the Rider Omega Pro Triathlon Team win the Team Challenge of the 2017 Tri United Series in Subic last month, said that there is no denying that he is in for a grueling race with the participation of veterans Elmo Clarabal and lone Filipino XTERRA Pro Joseph Miller in the race.

Aside from Clarabal and Miller, another big name in the world of mountain bike is also set to enter the competition in 2016 Asian Mountain Bike (MTB) Champion Jun Duron who is using the race to prepare for the opening leg of the 2017 Asian MTB Series in Japan on April 23.

“As of now, I can’t say that I can win the race because the bike leg is very technical but I will do my best to get the 1st place overall,” Olmilla said.

The race will also serve as a warm up for Olmilla who will be locking horns in the Tayud Duathlon on April 2 and the prestigious Durian Davao Triathlon on April 23.
