A SUSPECTED drug pusher and six others were arrested in separate anti-drug operations by the Cebu City police yesterday.
Ford Fantonial was arrested in a drug bust in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City at 12:45 a.m. yesterday.
Taken from his possession were 30 grams of shabu with a street value of P358,720.
“Fantonial did not resist arrest when we told him that we are police officers. He tried to escape and hide but he was arrested,” Senior Insp. Narolf Tan of the Cebu City police’s City Intelligence Branch (CIB) said.
Tan said Fantonial, a long-time user who started selling drugs last month, refused to identify his source of illegal drugs.
In a separate operation, five persons in Barangay Guadalupe and one person in Citi Center Barangay Kamagayan were caught sniffing shabu.
Ramil Gimpayan, Alvin Duran, Rich Cabajar, Nelson Flores, Abdong Pocong of Sitio Sudina, Barangay Guadalupe and Rodel Dacay of Barangay Kamagayan were arrested by operatives of the Cebu City police’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU).
In Minglanilla town, five men were caught in a pot session inside a small shanty in Barangay Poblacion Ward 3 at 10:30 p.m. last Saturday.
The suspects were identified as 31-year-old Robert Reroma, 25-year-old Donald Reroma and 42-year-old Rusty Saaneco of Barangay Poblacion Ward 3; 24-year-old Zeus Fernandez of Sitio Center Barangay Calajoan; and 21-year-old Daniel Restauro of Camella Homes Barangay Lawaan, Talisay City.
Recovered from their possession were six sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
Supt. Dexter Calacar, Minglanilla police chief, said the suspects were part of a motor-racing team who attended a disco party held by the local government there.
Calacar said charges will be filed against them today while they remained detained at the Minglanilla police precinct.
