After impressing coaches during tryouts held in Cebu last February, former Southwestern University (SWU) Lady Cobra Al Sheree Ann Eupeña now has a spot in the lineup of the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers.

The 22-year-old Surigao del Sur native, who helped SWU win four straight titles, was signed earlier this month and has been playing for the Lifesavers in the ongoing Philippine Superliga Invitationals.

With Generika, Eupeña plays as an opposite hitter, a position which is quite new to her since she has been comfortable playing as a setter during her collegiate years.

Despite the change in position, Eupeña’s adjustment process has been smooth since her teammates have helped her adjust.

“Generika has this positive aura that makes you feel at home, especially with the players,” Eupeña said.

Despite having stayed for just a few weeks with the Lifesavers team, Eupeña already feels she is in cloud nine since she never expected to make it into the professional level after exhausting her collegiate years.

“Actually, until now, the thought of playing in the PSL hasn’t sunk in yet. It’s too far from what I’ve expected in the past. I guess volleyball does not want to let me go because it gave me a chance to be right here.”

A few months ago, Eupeña bid her farewell to volleyball after finishing her playing years in the Cesafi.
Although she is still uncertain on whether she can play next conference, Eupeña said she will just enjoy every game she plays with Generika-Ayala.
