A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy residing in Barangay Capitol Site in Cebu City has reportedly been missing since March 23.
“We cannot conclude that the boy was kidnapped. He’s considered a missing person for now. In many instances in the past, we found out that missing persons just accompanied their friends and eventually went home,” Senior Insp. Elisandro Quijano, chief of the Guadalupe Police Precinct, said.
The boy did not go home from Guadalupe Elementary School where he’s studying.
His father, Alexander Geganto, said while he was about to fetch his son, he saw the boy run away.
“I learned that someone invited him to play computer games. Maybe, he went with his friends. There was a time when he also went with his friends to play with computers,” he said in Cebuano.
So far, Geganto said he has no idea on his son’s whereabouts.
Senior Insp. Quijano called on anyone who knows where the boy is to inform the nearest police precinct.
Last March 27, he said they also received a report regarding a foiled kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl.
Quijano said the girl reportedly managed to get out of the van after she was taken by two persons.
“As it is, these are allegations of the victim,” he said. Quijano said there’s nothing to be alarmed about since the case of the missing boy is isolated.
