THE Phoenix Fuelmasters snapped a two-game slide with a tight 94-91 win over the Barangay Ginebra Kings Saturday in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the University of Southeastern Gym in Davao City.

Import Jameel McKay converted a tough shot under the basket that put Phoenix ahead, 92-91, with 18.6 seconds left.

Ginebra committed a crucial turnover in the next play then Mathew Wright made pressure-packed free throws with 7.6 ticks to go, giving Phoenix a 94-91 edge.

Kevin Ferrer missed a potential game-tying triple at the buzzer, sealing Phoenix’s second win in four games.

It was Ginebra’s first game since its championship loss to the San Miguel Beermen in the Philippine Cup.
