Fusion, Sun & Rain take lead in A+E caging

FUSION and Sun and Rain zoomed to the top of the pack as they notched contrasting wins in the Architects + Engineers Basketball Assocation Davies Paints Cup 2017 last weekend at the University of San Carlos gym.

Fusion ran away with an 81-64 win over the undermanned Superdry Extreme while Sun and Rain escaped with an 82-81 victory over Megacryl.
The two winning squads now own identical 2-0 (win-loss) cards.

In spite of an hour-long delay due to unfavorable court conditions, Fusion got going as they erected a 46-32 lead at halftime to set the tone for the lopsided affair.

Comebacking guard Julius Orit fired in 17 points on top of three assists while former league MVP Ed Macasling had a double-double of 16 markers and 10 rebounds. Kyle Esbra also helped spark the win with 15 points, four assists and four steals.

Meanwhile, Jun Villacorta led five Sun and Rain players in double-figures with 17 points.

Ferdinand Tiro added 16, Mito Parba chipped in 13, Aldwin Pandaan tallied 12 and Dodut Dilao scored 11 to push Sun and Rain over Megacryl.
